blink 182 _ aliens exist ('the mark, tom, and travis show' version)
_________
Ah, the only Blink 182 song that I thoroughly enjoy (that I've heard). I need to buy The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show, if only for the way that they've changed the lyrics. It's very amusing. I really wasn't expecting to hear "Tom has sex with guys" at the end of this song. And that other one. Instead of "my friend thinks I'm just telling lies" it's "my friend thinks I'm just humping guys". Lots of gay jokes in that one. Tom and Travis are bonking. But you didn't hear that from me. Bow chicka pow!

idlewild _ little discourage + roseability
_________
Yeah. Yesterday we went to the State Marching Festival. Joy~ I got to see a few of the other bands (Chandler, Mesquite, Dobson, Mountain View Mesa, Mountain View Tuscon, Saguaro, and a few others), and was very glad for it. We got a good and didn't recieve any captions, but I didn't really care. We did a lot better than the judges made it sound -- they were simply biased (and I'm not even kidding -- they were under impression that our band had gone on strike agains ABODA last year). Marcos de Niza was the only band that got a superior (of course), but meh. I thought that Dobson, Mountain View Mesa, and Saguaro should have gotten superiors, too, but they didn't. It was fun, though.
Also, I'd like to inform everyone that my drum majors are..."involved". Or, at least, so thinks I. Unfortunately, one of them (Person A) will be graduating this year (::rolls on the floor crying:: Person A is, with very little doubt in my mind, the nicest person I have ever met in my entire life.), thus, leaving the other one (Person B) behind (he's a junior). So, here's my plan, with spurts of brilliance factored in by dearest Uchan:
Step 1: Lock Person A in a room with Person B for the rest of the year.
Step 2: While Person A is busy failing all of his classes, and thusly, getting held back one year, Person B will be taking any necessary classes on the internet. Person A will not be allowed to touch the computer, in which case a certain freshman midget who is under the illusion that he's capable of making a good drum major will appear, and Person A will sit there and develop a nervous tic in his eye while trying to be nice to said midget. So yeah -- he won't be touching the computer. He won't *want* to touch the computer, either, because he'll be enjoying himself in the nice little room with Person B.
Step 3: Person A and Person B will graduate together and go off to college together (and be room mates, etc.).
Step 4: They'll run off together, get married, and be happy little ferrets. Joy.
Shut up -- they're sickeningly cute together. And Uchan helped. -.-;;;
Friday night was our last game, as well as Senior Night. I was very depressed. There are so many people that I don't want to graduate. The past two years, it hasn't really affected me, because I didn't know any of the people in the junior and senior classes very well, but now the people who were sophomores while I was a freshmen will be graduating, and it's just very sad. One of my first friends outside of band will be graduating this year (I'll miss you tons, 'Nando, even if I *haven't* really gotten the chance to talk to you much this year. Good luck~), so that's kind of tough. Very depressing. It was also the last football game before *I'll* be a senior, so that was a little bit weird, too. I'm just going to shut up now. Buh-bye.

blindside _ pitiful
_________
::is in love with Blindside:: Wheee~
Well, I was sick today (again... =_=), I got the pleasure of sitting around all day watching MTV2 and MMUSA while barfing up a lung.
Apparantly, the Sodomized Underaged (no longer) Males [41] are putting out a new CD come November 28th. Everything from the title of the album (Does This Looked Infected?) to the new website to the music video are hilarious (as always). Why am I blabbering about a bunch of 20-year-old institution escapees, you ask? Well, Gentle Readers (all rights reserved, Slap to the Head ^3^), I just saw said music video for Still Waiting today while writhing in agony on my horrendously comfortable couch. Not really, I was just groggy, but you get the picture. I was practically rolling on the floor in laughter throughout the whole two minutes of the dancing midget in all of his glory. Yes, Deryck reminds me of Kyo, in that way that they're both short and hyper (and you *know* that Kyo wants to jump on Kaoru), but that's beside the fact. Anyway -- the video starts off in a music CEO type guy's office. The man obviously knows nothing about music. He refers to Green Day as "Green Day 75" (because "the number band thing is out"; I have yet to find out the significance of 41 [in a way, I don't want to know, considering the fact that one of the key words in their name is "Sodomized" =_=;;;]) and Led Zepplin (sp?) as "The Led Zepplins". Also, the whole renaming thing is a crackup (Sven, formerly known as Deryck; Thurston, formerly known as Cone; Holmes, formerly known as Dave; and Sergio, formerly known as Stevo32). A last word: Deryck sure seems to like jumping on Cone. But you didn't hear that from me. 9_9 This is the last word (I'm serious this time): In true Sum41 character, the entire video is a parody...of the Strokes. Including the beer bottle. And the destruction of equipment. Nice. Not the jumping on Cone part, but hey. Yeah. I'm done.
Davey and his damn posts on the AFI BBS kept me up until 4 in the morning. Blargh.

Okay; am in full-blown AFI mode now.
::drool, drool, drool:: I didn't know that AFI did a video of The Days of the Phoenix. It's...really, neat actually, which is saying a lot, taking into account how much I hate music videos with hoards of fans in them. The thing with Davey when he's talking was a bit disorienting, but meh. Also, I'm now a member of the official AFI BBS. Joy. Was reading crap at JadexCore, found out that they acutally post there (...and that Jade reviewed something on FF.N; I'm debating whether this is a good or a bad thing), and decided that it'd be neat in general to be a part of a fan community type thing. Am watching a live video of God Called in Sick Today. How you can crowd surf to that song is completely beyond me. Want to kill annoying, high-pitched screaming girl. AFI has been distracting me from my homework for over 12 hours now. Nice. I feel like a teeny bopper. =_= Damn you, Davey and Jade, and your sleeping-together-ness. Argh. Said the pirate. Well, I dug out my The Art of Drowning CD last night and am now in AFI-obssessed mode. Found pictures from their Blackheart tour in Eugene, OR. Davey's hair is getting really long; I don't even want to think about what my dad would say were he to take me to an AFI concert. Lots of "Dear Lord, that man is gay" type things. 9,9 Great fun. And Jade's wearing his PINK TIE! Joy~ And there's an AFI site in Japanese ("Son of Sam" was translated as "Sam of Sun". Oh dear...)... I'm wondering if I should be very afraid. Then again, I know of and love Japanese indies bands, so I guess it's not all bad. Then again, I don't know of indies *punk*. o_o And Davey looks like an emaciated hick woman with his hair tied back (::gets stoned by fans::). ::feeds Davey::

the rise and fall of rome _ movement i
_________
Well, our first marching band competition of the season was last night. Unfortunately, we launched right to ASU Band Day this year instead of going to the Peoria, Goldwater, Canyon del Oro, etc. Invitationals like we normally do. In other words, going straight to ASU was a tad bit intimidating. Another very intimidating factor was that we got the honor of performing right after freaking Marcos de Niza (quite possibly one of the best high school marching bands in the whole state of Arizona). I felt a little bit better after discovering that yes, that had been Marcos de Niza preforming The Rise and Fall of Rome two years prior at NAU. Heh. That's a little bit sad...recycling shows? But anyhoo -- the ended up being one of two bands that recieved a superior (they normally -- or, at least on the old rating scale, they did -- get superior with distinction, which is the highest rating possible, and is a rarity in competition). We got a good, but meh. I'm not upset; we deserved it. Band Day was fun, and ASU's performance at the end was awesome, just like it always is. The only crock was that they didn't give out captions this year for some odd reason or another. Was very confused by this. I'm done now. 9_9

Well, FF.N finally removed my Dir en Grey fanfics. They'd better hope that I've got everything saved to my hard drive, lest they get a few very nasty e-mails, which I've been meaning to do anyway.
Tonight's search for Sex Pistols fanfiction was, ulitmately, fruitless. So, no fluffy Sid and Johnny bonking each other tonight. So sad... I did, however, find a petition to get the music archives restored on FF.N. I was going to make nasty comments about how FF.N are conformist bastards who are so afraid of being sued that they completely ignore what the fans have to say. The fans are the reason that they are -- or should be -- running that damn site. But yeah... Stupid bastards. ::kicks Xing and anyone thus affiliated:: Smut, there is a way around; an entire category is a tad bit more difficult. Oh, here's the petition -- http://www.petitiononline.com/Trudy/petition.html -- so, please sign if you're interested. Well, isn't this an interesting little ditty. A first class waste of time, and I mean that in the NICEST WAY POSSIBLE. Aside from the fact that the author makes it impossible to tell whether the Falun Gong are political activists or a terrorist faction (oh; nevermind -- they're a cult), this entire write-up is completely pointless. I fail to see a connection between Dir en Grey and a religious/political/terrorist organization. Also, I'm a fan of Dir en Grey. Am I an emotional person? Yes. Do my emotions prompt me to be violent? No. Do I have an obssession with death? Certainly not. Am I afraid of it? Hell, yes. As for the content of Dir en Grey's songs, not many of them deal with death directly -- most concern political issues such as sexual abuse, rape, abortion, etc.-- and even when they do, I fail to see how this would motivate their fans to attatch themselves to "torturous" death. I have never once, in the year that I've been listening to Dir en Grey's music, "misaken their lyrics for preaching". Never in my life would I regard Kyo as a priest...that would be just a tad disturbing. Jesus Christ, you make them sound like a bunch of Hitler reincarnates. They're five NORMAL GUYS who just happen to participate in a musical trend. Do you remember glam rock? Yeah, it's sort of like that, jerk off. And where in the hell did you get the idea that there is a "war" going on between visual kei and non visual kei artists? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the vast majority of the Japanese music industry is NOT VISUAL KEI, and they're not attempting to overthrow "normal" bands. This article is, obviously an attempt at the degradation of fans of Dir en Grey and the glorification of a Chinese cult. How the two compare is completely beyond me. And don't give me any of that "of course you can't see it -- you like Dir en Grey" shit. Why don't you go write something politically correct, you asshole.
So yeah, I'm slightly offended and more that slightly confused. Some people...

alien ant farm _ flesh and bone
_________
My response to people on Sonmeanings.net regarding Alien Ant Farm lyrics: a) You're all dumbasses and need to learn how to spell and use proper grammar and b) am I the only one who thinks that their lead singer/lyricist is gay? ¬_¬ Don't ask about that one -- it's what happens when you use your imagination to figure out lyrics. I still think that Summer is about an affair of sorts, but I'm not sure what kind of affair... I think it's guy > guy > girl, but I can't be sure. This is why English needs to be gender-specific like Japanese. Sure, it's really sexist, but it suits my needs, especially when picking apart lyrics. For example, I know when Kyo's speaking as a girl and when he's speaking as a guy. See? It's convenient. I also still hold to my opinion that Stranded is an attempt at one of those 80's songs that camouflage rampant sexual innuendo with apparant psychosis. In other words, I would expect this song from Incubus -- not Alien Ant Farm. Are you ripping your hair out because you have no idea what I'm talking about? It's okay -- I've been in a car for five hours. You're not supposed to understand. ::falls over::
So, "What's with the sudden obssession with those retards that did a cover of freaking Michael Jackson?" you ask. Well, first off, you have to realize that my cousin is a complete idiot who can't recognize decent music when he hears it (he likes Disturbed, for Christ's sake). I was looking through his CD case for anything that looks interesting, and he asks me if I want his Alien Ant Farm CD, because there's only "one good song" on it. He then says that I can use his CD player to listen to it. The song he likes is track 2. Yes, kiddies, Movies was that "one good song". I hate that song. It's overplayed on both MTV2 and radio. Plus, it's not a good song to start with. I now love Flesh and Bone, Whisper, Summer, Sticks and Stones, Attitude, Stranded, Calico, Happy Death Day, and Courage. In other words, the whole damn CD.
So, SM is informing me of all of the fun, humping and loving that I missed on Sunday or whenever in the hell that party was. I hate all of you. I'm the only single one -- I need a boyfriend, dammit.

sugarcult _ pretty girl (the way)
_________
Well, I finally found a song by Sugarcult that I like. Since I know that you listen to them on occasion, do you know of any similar songs, Bird? By similar, I mean not Blink 182, happy stuff. Just wondering.
I was watching MTV2 this afternoon, and all of a sudden, I hear Tatu's Ja Soshla s Uma coming from the TV...with English lyrics. I was utterly shocked. I had never thought of them as a group that would do an American release, but hey, it's all good. I'm happy for them -- they deserve an international audience. I might even pick up the English CD if I ever have the cash to do so. However, "All the Things She Said" or whatever they're calling it here will always be "Ja Sosla s Uma" to me. ^^ I'll just sing along in...whatever language that's in. I still have no idea. Some western European thing. 9_9
Well, band was interesting today. It turns out that battery decided to mess around in the band room last night, and now one of them may permanently loose eyesight in one eye. Despite the fact that I never liked the kid, I fell bad for him -- I mean, that just sucks. This also means that the district can now revoke every privilege that we have. Fun for the whole family.

Yeah. I'm a tad pissed off right now. 'Why?', you ask. Well, I just found out that I got a 59/90 on a rather large Humanities test that I thought I had aced. I swear, my teacher must have made some sort of mistake, because I'm sorry, but you don't get 59/90 on a test that you studied for for five hours. I missed no more than 9 questions on that test. My grade is now a 79% in class. I'm *not* a happy little squirrel at the moment. Also, I have to use a stupid laptop instead of the school computers because...well, I don't honestly know why, but I do. I just woke up from a really odd dream (but aren't they always?). It was along the lines of Velvet Goldmine, even though it really wasn't, because all it was was a couple of guys that my brain says were in some sort of band, probably emo (that's scary...), riding around a really beautiful landscape (Italy? o_o) in one of those old trucks with the wooden planks around the bed. Um...after that part it was just two guys -- my brain's saying that one of them was similar to Brian Slade (what the fuck?) without blue hair and wearing plaid pants, and one of them was some sort of freakish mix of Kaoru of Dir en Grey and Jiro of GLAY (I don't know how to describe it -- he was a much less scary/cold/arrogant-looking than Kaoru, and he didn't wear gothic-type clothes, but he still looked like Kaoru...and he definitely had Kaoru's hair.). That damn truck was still there, and Brian Slade-guy was walking beside it while it was driving (it was going 1 MPH max; I've just now realized that the truck shouldn't have been moving, because you kind of need to hold down the gas pedal. o_o) through a field of wheat. I think it was dusk in summer or something, because it was still pretty light out. Kaoru-guy said something, Brian Slade-guy made dirty comments, they humped and loved in the front seat of the car (my dream cut off before I got to see this part; it was implied, though, so...yeah), which must have been really uncomfortable, because there was kind of a steering wheel. I don't know whether or not the truck was still moving. o_o Yeah... Weird-ass dream. Now I'm going to eat and then watch Bloodlust.

How, I don't know, because when it was released, I had sort of slipped from the Japanese music scene. Eeew...ANOTHER WORLD is on it. Why would you want to re-release that horrible song, Gacktsensei? Doomsday and Wa su re na i ka ra are good, though. The rest, I have no idea. Oh, and Fragrance. That one's good. I'm wondering what kind of speed he's referring to in the title Speed Master. Watch as images of Jiro standing on Takuro's shoulders yelling, "I am the master of speed!" pop up in the Toshii brain. x_x I shouldn't have gotten up so early...

Not only did my teacher decide that it was in order to torture me with homework that I didn't understand how to do, but he also handed back a quiz that we did last week (I got 2 out of five) and gave us our overall grades (80%). I practically had a nervous breakdown in class. I kid you not. Why is it that no matter how hard I try in my math classes, I always fail miserably and others do so well (i.e. Uchan and her 100%).
Math wasn't the only bad thing that happened today, though. In English, my teacher seemed to think that I was asleep when I really wasn't, and she sprayed me with a water bottle. Apparantly, this was genuinely amusing, as a few people giggled. Wanted to kill said people. Then, I had a test in Spanish, and I didn't understand how to do a few things on a worksheet that we were doing, which was odd, because I've never had problems understanding my Spanish class. During lunch, they ran out of chimichangas (sp?), and Sam-the-flaming-asshole decided to bring his friends again, which left me without anywhere to sit at our table, so I had to find somewhere else to sit. And then I went to math. Bad day. Very, very bad day. I'm frustrated, lonely, annoyed, and most of all, extremely stressed out. I want to sit at home and mope, but I have to go to band practice tonight.
I'll just listen to Emu ~ For My Dear and snooze for a bit, then. I need to calm down.

I'm going to fucking kill my IP. Spent half an hour doing an oekaki that I kind of liked, and when I send it, what do I see? "Page cannot be displayed". I *hate* my computer.

::stares at Real Player for a good, long moment:: I just watched Dir en Grey's Child Prey video, and, needless to say, it was very strange. This time, however, it was bordering on Ryutarou-style weird. I'm not sure whether or not a big glob of Plastic Tree, X Japan, Cari//gari, and Pierrot is a good thing or not. I guess that it could be, were it pulled off well. What in the hell am I talking about, you ask? Here's my point: with each new album Dir en Grey has been getting more odd/experimental. I can understand why many of Dir en Grey's old fans haven't hung on for the ride -- it's just getting a little bit too weird. But I'm sure that their new album will grow on me, just like Kisou did (to the point where I'll hardly let anyone touch the damn CD, even), and Macabre, before that. Then again, Diru's never put homicidal mice in their music videos before. Maybe there's some glaringly obvious undertone that I'm missing, and I'm not understanding the point. That video was just weird, though. I just appreciate their consideration for their fans' ears -- there's always a relatively quiet, melodic part in their heavy songs (probably because Kyo ruined his... 9_9). My whole point is, though, that the boys are getting a little bit weirder with each album release, and this will probably scare off a lot of people, as well as draw in many new fans more along the lines of the Cari//gari lot (which isn't necissarily a bad thing... XD). I'm sure that they'll be able to pull off all of the oddities with amazing eloquence, just as they always do (Hell, Kyo's been doing it for how many years now? Six? Seven?). They're Diru -- they can do anything. ^^

Okay, no more Spanish Ayashi no Ceres fanfiction for me. Trying to read stuff from a series that you know next-to-nothing about, let alone one in a language that you've only studied for three years, is not good for your brain. I got through the first three paragraphs and some dialogue, but then, my brain went, "Put, put, BOOM!" So...yeah. No more ficciòn de los segidores en español para mi. Gah~
